HOUSTON — A man died and a woman was hospitalized after a high-speed rollover crash in northwest Houston Sunday night, according to the Houston Police Department.
This happened just after 10 p.m. on Gessner Road near Tanner Road.
Houston police said a truck was speeding, heading north on Gessner when the driver lost control of the vehicle, hit the median, and flipped about four times. The truck ended up in the southbound lanes after the crash.
The man driving the truck was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A woman in the passenger seat was trapped inside the truck after the crash.
Houston firefighters extricated her from the truck and she was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
The roadway was closed for several hours as police conducted their investigation.
