HUMBLE, Texas — A 35-year-old man died after deputies say he ran a red light and slammed into another car with an Uber driver and family inside early Tuesday morning.
This happened around 1 a.m. at the intersection of Atascocita Road and Wilson Road.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the Uber driver, 41, and a family of five, ages 6 to 31) were taken to the hospital in with minor injuries.
The sheriff said deputies believed the driver who was at fault was under the influence. An open beer can was found in his lap.
along with running the red light, the sheriff said the driver appeared to be speeding at the time of the crash.
