Victims identified after luxury sports car split in half in deadly two-car crash in Dallas

Crisobal Flores Espino, 29, and Robert Rocha, 31, were killed when their McLaren crashed in Lake Highlands.

DALLAS — Police identified the two people killed in a car crash that left a McLaren sports car split in half.

Police said officers responded to the crash in the 8500 block of Abrams Road in Lake Highlands around 3:10 p.m. on Monday.

According to DFR, the McLaren struck a tree, killing both people inside and splitting the car in two. After the crash, the two deceased were inaccessible to first responders, DFR said, so a heavy rescue response was dispatched.

The driver was later identified as Cristobal Flores Espino, 29, and the passenger as Robert Leroy Rocha, 31, according to the Dallas Police Department.

One person from the other car was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries, per DFR.

WFAA chopper footage captured images of the damaged luxury sports car, which appears to be a McLaren 570S.

Officials did not share information about what led up to the crash or the status of the other driver involved.

This is a developing story. This article will be updated as we learn more.
