CYPRESS, Texas — Cy-Fair fire officials confirmed to KHOU 11's Ugochi Iloka that a house fire in the area early Wednesday morning was weather-related.
Officials said that due to all the rain, a tree fell on the home's gas meter and caused an explosion that sparked the fire. Crews responded to the scene at around 3 a.m. and it took them around an hour to contain the flames. The fire was contained before it could spread to nearby occupied homes.
Firefighters said the house was vacant, and nobody lived inside. No injuries were reported in the fire.
