'Absolutely heartbreaking' | Community reacts to news anchor Kris Radcliffe's passing

The Facebook post announcing Kris Radcliffe's passing has more than 4,000 reactions, 1,000 comments, and 1,000 shares.

TEMPLE, Texas — Kris Radcliffe wasn't just a newscaster, he was a fixture in the heart of Central Texas

Upon the announcement of Kris's death via Facebook on Wednesday, communities in and around Temple posted heartfelt comments expressing gratitude and love for the beloved news anchor.

Kris devoted 22 years to KCEN 6 News. In that time, he made people smile, laugh and cry (good tears).

Comments often pointed to Kris as the "heart and soul" of 6 News. Many commented they would put him, his family and his KCEN family in their prayers.

Those who previously worked with Kris had nothing but positive things to say. They recognized him for helping them break into the industry whether that be their first time on air, gaining an opportunity through a mutual connection or for being a mentor early in their careers.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce KCEN 6 News' Evening Anchor Kris Radcliffe has died. His passing was sudden and his family is asking for privacy.
