Viewers may notice the absence of KHOU 11 Chief Meteorologist David Paul in the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts over the next few weeks.
Paul announced Tuesday he is having surgery to have a disc replaced in his back. He will be gone from the middle of next week until May.
"This is an injury I've battled for years," Paul said. "I can't wait to get this done. That's why I'll be gone for several weeks in the month of May."
