KATY, Texas - Everything is bigger in Texas, so it’s no surprise the super-sized car wash at Buc-ee’s landed in the record books.
On Thursday, officials with the Guinness World Records will recognize the Buc-ee’s car wash in Katy as the longest car wash in the world.
The 255-foot car wash is just a little shorter than a football field. To celebrate, customers will get a free car wash on Thursday only at the location off the Katy Freeway at Cane Island Parkway.
The super-sized suds machine is open daily from 7 a.m to 8 p.m.
A manager at the carwash told KHOU 11 News, workers have been quite busy since the wash opened a few weeks ago.
Buc-ee’s is no stranger to big things. The Texas chain also owns the world’s largest convenience store, located just outside of San Antonio.
