BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas — An 82-year-old Freeport man was killed in a plane crash Tuesday in Brazoria County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
It was reported around 6:30 p.m. when the plane went down in a field on private property near the intersection of County Road 461 and County Road 416 -- about five miles south of the City of Brazoria and near the San Bernard River.
According to DPS, the pilot, Howard Autrey, was the only person aboard the plane when it went down.
