HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A woman was found dead in the Atascocita area on Wednesday, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives and forensic examiners spent the night combing the woods for clues.
HCSO officials said a work crew found the woman's body around 3:30 p.m. near a retention pond across the street from Alexander Deussen Park.
They said the woman appeared to be between 40 and 60 and was probably there for several days before her body was found.
Detectives said there's public access to the wooded property where her body was found, but they're not sure how she got there.
They said they'd search missing person reports to see if they could find out who the woman was.
