HOUSTON AT&T Wireless customers across Texas reported having spotty to no voice service early Friday.

Thousands in Houston, Galveston, College Station, and elsewhere took to Twitter and Facebook to report the issue starting shortly after 8 a.m.

There was no early word as to what was wrong, but in a tweet to KHOU11, AT&T said it was aware of an issue in the area and they were working to resolve it asap.

Some customers said they were never affected by the outage, however. It appeared to affect mostly Houston-area AT&T customers, no matter where they were in the country. According to DownDetector.com, spotty outages were also reported in Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin.

As of 11 a.m., many customers reported their phones had started working again. AT&Tlater released a statement saying the situation had been resolved. Those still experiencing issues were advised to turn their phone off for a few minutes and then turn it back on.
