HOUSTON — One person is dead after a hit-and-run and a second crash Saturday in southeast Houston.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. Saturday in the 8400 block of Howard Drive near Galveston Road. Houston Police said the incident started at Howard and the Gulf Freeway service road when a Lincoln MKX hit a Honda Civic at a red light before leaving the scene.
Witnesses said the driver was speeding on Howard when he hit the back of a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 stopped at a right light, pushing the Chevrolet into a GMC Sierra stopped in front of it.
Police said the Lincoln then veered and hit a Honda Pilot in the middle lane, pushing the Pilot into the intersection and causing the Lincoln to roll over.
The driver of the Lincoln was taken to a hospital where he died.
Police said they found bottle of alcohol in the Lincoln, but they do not know if the driver was drinking at the time of the crash.
