FULSHEAR, Texas - A young deer was rescued by a local police officer after it was tied up outside of a home under construction on Wednesday.
Officer Zieschang with the Fulshear Police Department and construction workers nearby were able to cut the young buck loose and remove the rope from the deer's antlers.
On its Facebook page, the department shared video of the rescue and a picture of the officer and the deer, nicknamed "Uncle Buck."
The officer said the deer was very friendly and had walked back into nearby woods after it was freed.
However, the department posted an update Thursday afternoon saying the deer was domesticated and needs to be relocated to a safer location.
The department said they have notified wildlife officials.
The department said it is unclear why the deer was tied up in the first place. If anyone has information on how or why the animal was tied up, contact the Fulshear Police Department.
