MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Texas Parks & Wildlife called for extra help when an 8-foot gator was found near homes on the east side of Lake Conroe.
Late Friday a resident spotted the alligator in the 12300 block of Longmyre.
The responding game warden called professional gator catchers, who managed to put the animal in the back of a truck - but not without a fight. The animal twisted, turned, hissed and showed its teeth to try and prevent capture. There were no injuries.
Officials said the alligator would be taken to the Anahuac area to be released.
Animal experts say all the recent Texas rains have encouraged alligators to travel through neighborhoods, making it dangerous for residents.
