HOUSTON – NASA astronaut Leland D. Melvin's official portrait is viral on Twitter - thanks to his dogs!
The astronaut, on Twitter as @Astro_Flow, confirmed he sneaked his dogs into the NASA photo studio to get a couple shots with them while in his suit.
One of the cute pooches even gave him a kiss on the cheek.
The astronaut isn't only known for going into space He's made many TV appearances and was even an 11th-round draft pick by the Detroit Lions in 1986. He soon gave up his NFL career for space, however.
