MONT BELVIEU, Texas – A Barbers Hill ISD teacher was in for quite the surprise Monday morning.
While walking past the district’s technology building, the teacher noticed a large alligator resting on the pavement. Unsure if it was the real deal or a display created by students and staff, the teacher called for school officials to check it out.
Turns out the gator was very real.
Thanks G Warden Pope for safely removing an uninvited guest! 6 ft gator was kind enough 2 wait till kids were gone! pic.twitter.com/k0jQD58Eny

The gator was wrangled by a game warden and hauled away from the school.
It will be released back into the wild, district officials said.
