TEXAS CITY, Texas - Marathon Petroleum says three workers suffered injuries in a fire at its Galveston Bay refinery early Monday.
One of the injured workers was transported to the hospital by helicopter. The other two suffered less serious injuries and were treated at the scene.
A company spokesman says the more seriously injured worker is a contract employee.
The facility involved in the fire was down for planned maintenance at the time. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Marathon says.
The fire was reported shortly before 3 a.m. Monday.
