GALVESTON, Texas — The Lone Star Rally kicks off in Galveston this weekend.
The annual tradition is the largest four-day motorcycle event in North America.
The first day of the rally was Thursday and it runs through Sunday.
The City of Galveston said the annual event brings more than $115 million to the local economy and nearly 500,000 visitors to the island. In addition to the thousands of custom bikes and classic cars, there will be food vendors and more than 40 live music acts.
Since there will be street closures on Seawall Boulevard and the Strand, officials want drivers to be cautious and look out for motorcyclists.
Galveston police said they're setting up a unified command center to help keep the peace.
