HOUSTON -- Firefighters were on the scene of a large apartment complex fire in north Houston Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out just after 8 a.m. on Aldine Mail Road near JFK. Witnesses tell authorities they saw two individuals run from the burning building, which was undergoing renovations at the time.
There were no reports of injuries. All 24 units of the complex were unoccupied and destroyed.
Views from Air 11 show the burned building is at the Capewood Apartments. By 10 a.m. firefighters with the Houston Fire Department appeared to have the flames under control.
The cause of the fire and where it started within the building are still under investigation, and authorities have not yet identified the two people spotted running from the building. They're asking for anyone with information to call Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
