Is It Worth It?: Baseboard Buddy

If cleaning baseboards feels like a job, there's a gadget that could make it easier. It's called Baseboard Buddy.

HOUSTON – If cleaning baseboards feels like a job, there’s a gadget that could make it easier.

It’s called Baseboard Buddy.

Reporter Tiffany Craig tried it out with Cassie Padilla in Spring.

“I have three kiddos and my hands are just a tiny bit full,” Cassie said.

She agreed to give the product a try.

"Yeah Houston! You get to see my dirty house," Cassie explained after admitting that she can’t remember the last time her baseboards were cleaned.

“Ok, you ready?” asked reporter Tiffany Craig.

“Yes, here we go” replied Cassie.

Baseboard Buddy has a 4-foot extendable handle and a microfiber cleaning pad that attaches at the end. The gadget can be used down low or up high for door frames and molding.

As Cassie started using the product, she noticed that the pad hugs to the surface being cleaned and picks up quite a bit of dirt.

"Yeah that was kind of nasty,” Cassie said after looking at bottom of the pad.

The directions say that you can use that cleaning pad dry or wet. Cassie decided to wet it down and cleaning got easier.

“I think with it wet, it gets more dirt," she said. "It really worked but you definitely have to put some elbow grease into it.”

The manufacturer says the pads are reusable.

We bought Baseboard Buddy (with three extra cleaning pads) at Bed Bath and Beyond for $20. A six-count box of refill pads is $10.

“Worth it! Every penny. It beats Cinderella-style for sure,” said Cassie. If you have a product idea for Tiffany, send an email to telltiffany@khou.com
