HOUSTON — Houston’s hottest spot is now in the running to become the coolest pool on the planet.
It’s a competition by Travel Agent Central to match up the best pools in the world, and you can pick the winner.
It's March Madness, but instead for sports, this race is a little more relaxing. It’s the competition for the world’s coolest pool, and in the final four is Houston's own Texas-shaped lazy river at Marriott Marquis. It's the only pool in the country that’s still in the running.
Right now, Houston is up against the W Punta de Mita's newest pool in Mexico. But, compared to our Texas-shape, it’s got a boring thermometer shape and doesn’t allow kids.
Once Houston wins this round, the Marriot Marquis will be up against the winner between the other two: the TRS Yucatan Hotel's Helios Beach Club, which is also in Mexico and the Live Aqua Boutique Resort Pool in Playa del Carmen.
You have until April 8th to get your votes in. Winners go to the final round, and that winner gets crowned 'Coolest pool in the world.'
