HOUSTON One person was killed Sunday morning when an 18-wheeler crashed and burst into flames on the 610 South Loop Freeway at I-45, according to the Houston Fire Department.
The big rig crashed and burst into flames around 7:30 a.m. The truck appeared to have been going too fast as it neared the exit. When HFD arrived, the truck was fully involved in fire.The driver died.
All main lanes of the 610 South Loop Freeway eastbound after I-45, and two main lanes, one ramp and one shoulder lane of I-45 northbound at the 610 South Loop remain closed after the accident, According to Houston Transtar.
The freeway closure on the South Loop East stretches from Woodridge to Broadway.
