HEB using apps to launch home grocery delivery

SAN ANTONIO -- HEB is teaming up with apps to bring home grocery delivery to San Antonio.

SAN ANTONIO -- HEB is teaming up with apps to bring home grocery delivery to San Antonio.

Shoppers will be able to use apps called Shipt and Instacart to order groceries and have them delivered to your home in as little as an hour.

The Shipt app said that it's offering up to $50 in free groceries if you sign up for an annual membership before the HEB launch, according to its website.

Both apps let you select products and place them into a cart, like most online shopping services.

Instacart also connects you with a personal shopper in the store to help select the best items, like produce.

HEB said the grocery delivery services will begin in San Antonio on May 25.

HEB also expects to launch curbside pick-up at the "HEB plus!" location at Bandera Road and Loop 1604. HEB said customers will be able to visit hebtoyou.com to show and schedule a pick-up for the same day.
