HOUSTON — If you’ve been touched by cancer and are looking for a way to give back, the American Cancer Society is excited to announce a new volunteer opportunity at the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Hope Lodge in Houston called Friends of Hope Lodge.
Located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center at 6801 Ardmore Street, Hope Lodge Houston is a free home away from home for cancer patients, as young as 12 years old, and their caregivers who must travel into our great city for treatment.
Friends of Hope Lodge is a compassionate group of volunteers who devote their time, energy, and resources to help brighten the lives of guests staying at Hope Lodge Houston.
Members coordinate a variety of activities and services, fostering comfort and camaraderie. They bring warmth and positivity to the Hope Lodge community by organizing uplifting events and by providing nourishing meals that offer guests a welcomed reprieve from the challenges of cancer treatment.
This year’s 37th Annual American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball happening on September 14 at Hilton-Americas in downtown Houston will also have a special donation opportunity directly benefitting Hope Lodge Houston. To purchase tickets online or to donate, visit cattlebaronsball.org.
KHOU 11 Morning News Meteorologist Chita Craft and Traffic Expert Jennifer Reyna will be the emcees at this year's Cattle Baron's Ball.
