HOUSTON — The Astros' home opener is just 11 days away. The team will take on the Oakland A's in Minute Maid Park on April 5.
But there's a new rule for fans who plan to attend the games this season.
Fans can no longer bring backpacks into the park. There are a few exceptions: diaper bags, single compartment drawstring bags, and medical bags.
We're told those bags will still have to be checked before fans enter the park and can't be larger than 16" x 16" x 8."
The Astros said it’s all about security concerns and speeding things up at the gate.
