Disgraced former Galveston County District Clerk Jason Murray will spend the next 205 days in jail after pleading guilty to threatening to kill his estranged wife after already having been convicted of hitting her.

HOUSTON Disgraced former Galveston County District Clerk Jason Murray will spend the next 205 days in jail after pleading guilty to threatening to kill his estranged wife after already having been convicted of hitting her, according to Harris County Court Records.

Murray, who initially received deferred adjudication in the spousal abuse case, faced jail time after an intoxicated driving charge and a probation violation for threatening his wife. He was sentenced in a Harris County courtroom Monday after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors.

Murray was swept into office in 2010 during a Republican landslide victory in local county races. Less than a year into office, he was charged with beating his wife, Mekisha Jane Murray, prompted a school security alert at his son s school, accused of sexual harassment in the district clerk s office and charged with intoxicated driving after the vehicle he was driving struck two cars.
