Friendswood High School student killed in fiery crash

A 16-year old Friendswood High School student was killed in a car accident Tuesday morning.The car burst into flames and the victim was trapped inside.

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas A 16-year old Friendswood High School student was killed in a car accident Tuesday morning.

Brittany Lee Findleywas eastbound on FM 528 just before 10 a.m. when she lost control and crashed into a light pole near Moore Road.

The car burst into flames and the victim was trapped inside.

Friendswood police officers tried to gether out but they were unable to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher.

When firefighters arrived, theteen was rushed to Clear Lake Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Some ofFindley's friends brought flowers to the crash scene Tuesday afternoon.

She was one of the first ones with her license so she was the car driver for the girls for awhile, said Robin Robinson, a parent.

Findley was a sophomore at Friendswood High School. The school brought in additional counselors on Tuesday.

FM 528 was shut down at Victory Lane while the power company repaired downed power lines.
