BRYAN, Texas -- Former Houston Oilers quarterback Dan Pastorini is a free man again. Pastorini bonded out of jail Monday afternoon after being charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic accident in Bryan.
Bryan police Sgt. Steven Spillars says Pastorini remained in custody Monday with bail set at $3,000. Spillars says Pastorini, who lives in Houston, also was cited for not having a driver s license.
Spillars says Pastorini was involved in a two-vehicle wreck late Sunday and was arrested early Monday. Pastorini s blood was drawn. Test results are pending.
The 60-year-old former NFL great was alone in his Mercedes. Spillars says it appears Pastorini s car rear-ended another vehicle at a red light.
No attorney was listed for Pastorini, who was with the Oilers in the 1970s, then played for the Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Bryan is 90 miles northwest of Houston.
After Pastorini bonded out of jail, he proceeded to the golf course to play in a charity golf tournament.
