MISSOURI CITY, Texas -- A unique marriage proposal happened in the middle of a Missouri City cul-de-sac on Monday.

Former Miss USA Crystle Stewart thought she was taking a helicopter tour of Houston with her boyfriend and sister but he had other plans.

Max Sebrechts, a former model turned trade commissioner from Belgium, decided it was time to propose to the Missouri City native.

My mom came up with the idea actually to rent a helicopter, Sebrechts said.

Everyone on the ground knew the plan including Crystle's little sister who was in the chopper too.

I was very excited, said Breana Stewart.

Once they touched down and the propellers stopped, Crystle jumped out but still didn't realize what was about to happen.

The proposal didn't go off without a hitch.

Crystle's sister walked away from the helicopter with the ring in her purse.

Breana had the ring but she gets out and just walks away from the chopper and I'm like where is she going, Sebrechts said.

You can see her rush back on the right side of the home video to give Max the ring.

Then it was time.

Max dropped to one knee in the middle of the street.

So Crystle, he said and then proposed to her in his native tongue of French.

In front of family and dozens of neighbors, she said yes.

The couple lives in Los Angeles but has plans to come back to Houston for their wedding next year.
