After an eighth straight Texas academic decathlon championship, Dulles will compete for a national title

Dulles took home top honors at the state tournament last weekend. They're now heading to Pittsburgh to compete in the national academic decathlon title.

SUGAR LAND, Texas — Good luck to the Dulles Vikings’ academic decathlon team! They're headed to Pittsburgh to represent Texas in the national competition.

Dulles is fresh off their eighth straight Texas state championship, which they won last weekend. Aside from the Texas state team title, Dulles earned plenty of individual honors, including 26 medals and $16,500 in scholarship money.

Here are some of the individual highlights.

  • Audrey Hanan won first place overall in the Scholastic division
  • Koushik Chaliki was second in overall Scholastic division
  • Anant Asthana won second place overall in the Honors division
  • Alex He won third place overall in the Scholastic division
  • Sreela Gutha was fifth overall in the Varsity division
  • Jason Wu was sixth overall in the Honors division
  • Ella Sheridan was 13th place overall in the Varsity division
  • Sriram Susarla was 20th overall in the Honors division

The streak lives on! Dulles High School Decathlon team is headed to nationals in Pittsburgh after obtaining the Academic Decathlon State Championship Title, for the eighth year in a row! Congratulations!
