Bellaire police chief: Woman shot ex-boyfriend several times at Bellaire police station

Bellaire police say a woman shot a man at the Bellaire Police Station during a domestic dispute.

BELLAIRE, Texas — Bellaire police are looking for a woman they said shot a man during a domestic violence incident early Friday morning.

Bellaire Police Chief Onesimo Lopez said they got a call around 2:30 a.m. from a couple of people saying they were being followed by one of their ex-girlfriends and were headed to the nearest police station in an effort to avoid any confrontation.

Lopez said once they got to the police station, the woman got into an argument with the people in the truck before she opened fire into the passenger side multiple times. She then took off. An officer at the station returned fire, but it's unclear whether she was hit.

The police chief said the passenger, the woman's ex-boyfriend, was hit several times and taken to an area hospital in serious condition.

Lopez urged the woman to turn herself in. He said police knew who she was and are working to take her into custody once a warrant is approved.
