LA MARQUE, Texas — A woman is safe after police say a man kidnapped her in the parking lot of a Sam’s Club in La Marque Friday afternoon.
This started at 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the store along the Gulf Freeway.
The La Marque Police Department said the woman was forced into her vehicle at gunpoint in the parking lot. She was then directed to drive to her home in League City.
Once they got to her home, the victim was able to get away from her kidnapper and alerted police. Investigators said the kidnapping suspect was located in a nearby apartment complex and taken into custody by League City police.
Police said there was no further threat to the public.
Police said the victim was not injured in the kidnapping. Investigators are now looking into the adduction and burglary related to the incident.
