Man accused of killing woman at north Houston motel has history of domestic violence, sexual assault, court documents say

A vigil was held Saturday night for Alicia Michelle Strambler, the woman Myron Strambler is accused of beating to death at the Moonlight Inn Motel.

HOUSTON — The man accused of killing a woman at a north Houston motel last Wednesday is due back in court Monday morning.

Myron Strambler, 36, appeared in probable cause court last week, where his bond was set at $250,000.

A vigil was held Saturday night for 34-year-old Alicia Michelle Strambler, the woman Myron Strambler is accused of beating to death at the Moonlight Inn Motel in north Houston.

Loved ones gathered near the Moonlight Inn, where Alicia died. Her parents and others took time to remember the mother of three. Some shared what they will miss most about her.

Loved life, had a great smile, a great laugh," mother Michele Hedt said.

According to court documents, Myron Strambler attacked Alicia Michelle Strambler inside a room at the motel. He beat her with his hands and an unknown object.

Additional documents reveal Strambler’s criminal history, including a 2021 domestic violence case involving the same victim. At the time, she was listed as his wife, but they were separated. It’s unclear whether they were still married.

In 2022, Strambler was accused of violating a protection order, but that case was dismissed. In 2009, he was convicted of sexually assaulting a child in Brazoria County.

Strambler is due back in court in just a few hours.
