HOUSTON — A young woman was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in a car in southwest Houston Friday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.
The identity of the 19-year-old victim hasn't been released.
A neighbor found her body in a car parked at an apartment complex on Nobility Drive near West Bellfort.
"This morning when I went to take out the trash, I noticed a young girl that was slumped over in the seat," the neighbor said.
Out of concern, she went to take a closer look and knocked on her door.
The neighbor saw that the woman had been shot several times. Bullet holes could be seen in the windshield of the car.
"She was dead and something like that has never happened before, so we never thought to check the car last night," the neighbor said.
The neighbor said the woman was parked at the complex the night before but had not been there before.
"We’ve never seen the girl. We’ve never seen the car. She was just randomly there," she said.
Police said another neighbor heard gunshots around 7 p.m. Thursday but didn’t report it to police until they showed up Friday morning.
"Just very sorry for that girl and her family, you know that she was there for so long," the neighbor said.
Houston police don't know the motive or identity of the killer or killers.
