HOUSTON — Three people were shot at a west Houston apartment complex on Monday afternoon in what appears to be a murder-suicide, according to police.
It happened around 2:35 p.m. along Richmond Avenue just outside Beltway 8 and north of the Westpark Tollway.
According to investigators, the shooting happened in the apartment complex's leasing office.
When officers arrived, they said they found a man and a woman dead inside the leasing office. A third person was taken to an area hospital and was reportedly stable.
According to witnesses, the shooter entered the leasing office and kicked everyone out except a man and a woman who were employees at the leasing office. They said he held them hostage before shooting and killing the woman and wounding the man.
The shooter then shot and killed himself, police said.
A motive for the shooting is unknown.
