FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Police have identified the victims of a double shooting late Tuesday in Cinco Ranch.
Xylia Castillo, 40, and Joshua Long, 38, were shot by Castillo's ex-boyfriend Monday night in the 5000 block of Moss Garden Lane, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.
Wilson Ferrer, 28, killed himself Tuesday morning after a SWAT standoff that lasted through the night.
The gunfire shook up neighbors in the subdivision south of Katy.
Neighbors Mike and Rebecca Hall live directly next door to the victim and tried to help as this deadly domestic violence unfolded.
"It was a woman screaming bloody murder for her life," remembers a shaken Rebecca, "and then when he was calling 911 I was going, 'It's not worth it! It's not worth it! Don't do this!'"
"I was screaming at him to get away from her," explained Mike. "'We're calling the cops!'"
The Halls say the gunman then fired a shot at Rebecca and kicked down a part of their fence to run away. At that point, deputies arrived and found Castillo shot in front of the home and rushed to help her.
"One of our deputies basically picks her up and carried her over his shoulder and removed her from danger," said Maj. James Hines.
Castillo was seriously wounded with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. She was rushed by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Long's body was found in the backyard. Three young kids, all under 6-years-old, were in the home but they weren't harmed.

Authorities searched for the suspect for hours, evacuating neighbors and telling others to stay in their homes with the doors locked. At approximately 3:20 a.m., deputies responded to another call about gunshots in the area. The SWAT team later tracked down the suspect and confronted him in the garage of Castillo's home. Ferrer allegedly ignored their commands and shot and killed himself.
"He was an estranged ex-boyfriend," explained Maj. Chad Norvell. "I think he was just upset about the new relationship that she had with this gentleman."
Investigators say Ferrer was waiting for Castillo and Long when they returned to the home with their children.
"We see the kids playing and mowing the yard, helping the mom out," explained Rebecca Hall. "A very nice, quiet family and it's a pretty sad situation."
