UH student reports armed robbery near freshmen housing

A University of Houston student says he was robbed in a campus parking lot on Wednesday evening.

HOUSTON -- A University of Houston student says he was robbed in a campus parking lot on Wednesday evening.

According to the school's police department, the robbery happened in lot 6C, which is located near the freshmen housing at the Cougar Village.

Around 6:30 p.m. two men in a silver Infiniti drove up alongside the student and began to talk to him. The student said one of the men pointed a pistol at him, and then demanded to see his backpack.

The student handed over the backpack, and the suspects fled. The victim as not hurt.

Police described the driver as a black male, 18 to 24 years old, 180 lbs., possible stubble facial hair, possible dread locks, wearing a black t-shirt, and blue jeans. The second suspect was said to be a black male of the same age and weight, possible facial hair with short hair and a white t-shirt.

In any emergency situation or if you see suspicious activity, campus police warn students to immediately call 911.
