HOUSTON — A man was shot by a Houston police officer on Sunday, according to authorities.
It happened around 7:40 p.m. along Tidwell Road between Mesa and Wayside drives in northeast Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, the man was conscious and breathing when he was taken to an area hospital. His condition was not known but officials said they didn't believe his injuries were life-threatening.
While police called the man a "suspect" in a post on X, it's unclear what he was wanted for or what led up to the shooting.
HPD said no officers were injured and the suspect was shot one time.
According to video from the scene, it appears to have happened at or near a convenience store along Tidwell. Crime scene tape surrounded the store entrance and investigators were focused on a vehicle in the parking lot.
Police said more information would be provided at the scene.
