SPRING BRANCH, Texas -- The third suspect wanted in the murder of a prominent Houston doctor is in custody.
Authorities say Misael Santollo was arrested around 8 p.m. Tuesday by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force and the Texas Rangers.
Police have been looking for the 18-year-old ever since they arrested Cristobal Galvan Cerna and Moises Galvan Cerna for allegedly murdering Dr. Jorge Mario Gonzalez at his Bellville ranch in Austin County.
Cristobal Cerna and Moises Cerna are the brothers of the doctor's ranch hand, who was also shot. Santollo is their cousin.
According to Texas Rangers, Gonzalez and his family had just arrived at their ranch when they were ambushed by the three suspects, who were waiting inside.
The 56-year-old doctor exchanged gunfire with the suspects. He was struck several times and died at the scene.
Gonzalez's 29-year-old wife and toddler were unharmed. Authorities said nothing was taken from the ranch, so they've ruled out robbery as a motive.
Officials said Santollo was hiding out at a friend s apartment in the Spring Branch area when he was arrested. He had shaved his head to hide his identity.
When we arrived at that location, we observed the fugitive. He was sitting in the living room on the couch, and when he noticed we were outside, he fell to the ground and tried to conceal himself, U.S. Deputy Marshal Cameron Welch said.
Officials said Santollo then surrendered without incident.
Santollo, Cristobal Cerna and Moises Cerna have been charged with murder and are being held in the Austin County Jail. They were all denied bond.
