Teen shot in drug deal gone bad in northwest Houston, police say

"That transaction did not go as he planned," said Lt. Riley with the Houston Police Department. "The other party robbed him and shot him in the leg."

HOUSTON — A 16-year-old was shot in the leg Saturday night while he was trying to sell drugs in northwest Houston, police said.

This happened around 10 p.m. on North Gessner Road in the Willowbrook area.

The victim and witnesses told police the teen was there to sell narcotics at the time of the shooting.

"That transaction did not go as he planned," said Lt. Riley with the Houston Police Department. "The other party robbed him and shot him in the leg."

The teen was taken to an area hospital and is expected to be OK.

Investigators were working to interview witnesses and the victim.
