17-year-old stumbles into convenience store to call for help after being shot in west Houston, police say

The victim is expected to be OK but police said he could not give investigators a clear explanation of what happened.

HOUSTON — An investigation is underway after a 17-year-old was shot twice in west Houston Friday night, according to the Houston Police Department.

This happened around 10:18 p.m. on Glenmont Drive, which is near Renwick Drive south of the Southwest Freeway.

HPD said the teen had stumbled into a convenience store to ask for help after he was shot at least twice in the torso. Investigators retraced the 17-year-old's steps back to an apartment complex about a block away where they found pistol and rifle casing.

The victim is expected to be OK but police said he could not give investigators a clear explanation of what happened.
