HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Two days after a deadly shooting at a store in northwest Harris County, the sheriff's office released surveillance photos of a man they believe is responsible for pulling the trigger.
On Sunday around 6:15 p.m., Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators said Bryson Walton got into a verbal exchange with a man outside of a convenience store along SH-249 just inside Beltway 8.
The man followed Walton to his car, and when he got into the driver's seat, the man pulled out a gun and opened fire, HCSO officials said.
Walton, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Gun violence is senseless. Whatever the issue was, (it) didn't have to result in violence. It's just very tragic," Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said on Sunday.
The shooter left the scene and hasn't been identified or caught. Investigators said he's believed to be about 25 and had "twists or braids" as his hairstyle. On Tuesday, they released surveillance photos of the man they believe is responsible for Walton's death.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or the HCSO Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100.
