HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man accused of carjacking a woman from a gas station, then robbing and raping her was arrested Tuesday morning.
Jordan Stephens was captured in an apartment complex Tuesday morning all thanks to a KHOU 11 viewer who recognized him from a picture they saw on TV and called in a tip.
Stephens was arrested by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force.
The victim spoke exclusively with KHOU 11 News about the ordeal with that hope that her story would help catch the suspect.
Investigators say at approximately 2 a.m. on Oct. 15, a 23-year-old woman was kidnapped from the Exxon gas station located on FM 1960 and Stuebner Airline.
"I really just remember his gun and his face," the victim said. "What was going through my head was, at the time, 'I just don't want to die.'"
Deputies say Stephens asked his victim for a cigarette as she left the store, then pointed a gun, got into her car and made her drive to an unknown location where he tried to rape her.
"He told me to get in the backseat and take my clothes off. I just kind of pressed my back against the horn trying to finagle my way, anyway I could, away from him," she said.
The victim did get away for the moment but says she was forced to perform oral sex.
"I just felt his hand and metal against my head," she said. "I couldn't really breathe at that moment...I just felt like I was drowning."
Investigators say Stephens left her at the side of the road and took off with her car. It was later found at an apartment complex at 905 Cypress Station.
"Just hurts," said the victim through tears. "I've always been very protective over my sexual side and all that...and having that kind of, like, stripped away from you?"
Regardless of the emotional pain with which she's been left to deal, the victim told her story in hopes of protecting others.
"I want him to never hurt another girl again," she said. "If had control over it, he wouldn't be here anymore. It would be him instead of me."
The 17-year-old is charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
Detectives say his fingerprints were found on the victim's stolen car; KHOU 11 News first brought you this story Monday afternoon.
