HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man and two teenage girls were shot to death early Sunday morning inside their Katy home.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said it is very likely a murder-suicide case, but investigators still need to "tie up some loose ends to make a final determination." Gonzalez said there is no threat to the community.
It happened in the 3800 block of Silverhawk Drive.
Around 3:30 a.m. Reyna Isabel Perez, the mother of the two teenage girls, came home from a night out. Deputies said she could not find her kids or her husband inside the home, so she called 911.
Deputies arrived and began searching the house. They later found all three bodies upstairs with gunshot wounds.
Deputies identified the deceased as Victor Portillo, the girls' stepfather, Maria Perez, 14 and Isabella Perez, 15.
Investigators said there were injuries to all three bodies.
This is developing story.
