HOUSTON — An investigation is underway after one person was stabbed to death and another was injured at a Spring Branch-area apartment complex Thursday morning, the Houston Police Department said.
"I just heard neighbors yelling, that there was a dead body, a lot of blood spilled," one woman who didn't want to be identified told us. "It was just really scary."
This happened on Long Point Road near Antoine Drive around 7:30 a.m.
A neighbor told KHOU 11 that someone called police after hearing a woman scream.
HPD officers found the victims with multiple stab wounds. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a man was rushed to an area hospital.
"At the moment, we're still in the very early stages of the investigation – still putting the puzzle pieces together, identifying everyone," HPD homicide detective C. Bowling said.
Multiple neighbors told us the victims were an adult woman and her brother and a relative was arrested. Police have yet to confirm the relationship between the victims and the suspect.
One neighbor told us the victims moved in about a month ago.
"I did not know them personally, but I always saw them walking by – the lady was super nice," she said.
She said police had been called to the family's apartment several times in the past.
