HOUSTON — Houston police are asking for help after a southwest-side smoke shop was robbed at gunpoint earlier this year.
The robbery was recorded on surveillance cameras.
It happened on Oct. 5 in the middle of the day.
Two people walked into a smoke shop on West Fuqua Street near Hiram Clarke Road around 1:45 p.m. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and both of the robbers jumped over the counter while threatening the clerk. The clerk can be heard telling the robbers that there's no money to take.
"There's no money," she said. "I told you already."
One of the suspects then asks if she wants to die while forcing his way to the cash register.
As one suspect rummages through the register, the other asks the clerk if the security cameras can record audio.
"These cameras can't hear?" he said.
The robbers then took some things from the display behind the register and put them in a bag while continuing to talk to the clerk.
"We ain't going to hurt nobody. We want money. But if you get in our way, somebody going to die," one of the robbers said.
The robbers then left the store.
Houston police also noted that another man bought something at the store before the armed robbers went in. Investigators said that the man held the door and talked to the robbers before they went inside. They said he's considered a person of interest in the case.
Description of suspects
Both robbers are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s. They both had a thin build. One was wearing a Pioneers basketball hoodie and black pants and the other was wearing a gray hoodie and black pants.
