1 teen dead, another injured in shootings on southwest side, HPD says

The shootings happened about two miles apart at around the same time Tuesday night.

HOUSTON — Two teens were shot in southwest Houston and police believe the shootings may be connected.

According to Houston police, the shooting scenes were only around two miles apart, but happened at around the same time. Both victims were 15 years old.

Investigators said in one shooting, a 15-year-old boy was shot while with a couple of guys in a car near a corner store. They pulled over to find help on Rogerdale near the Beltway.

Shortly after that, police got a hospital call where HPD said a second 15-year-old was shot in the head and died.

Houston police tell us witnesses told investigators the teen boy who was killed was heading to the Alief learning center to collect money from someone before shots were fired.

Police said the two shooting scenes were about two miles apart.

“These two 15-year-olds I’m talking about right now, one is deceased and one is shot in the back and very well may be paralyzed,” said Lt. Wilkins with the Houston Police Department. “So prayers for both these individuals.”

Houston police say the shootings are likely related. As we learn more, we’ll post it here.
