HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A chase in northwest Houston Thursday ended with deputies shooting a suspect. At one point, investigators said the armed suspect jumped out of his vehicle and onto the hood of a car
It all started off Greens Road when a deputy was serving a warrant for aggravated assault.
They said the suspect took off and led deputies on a chase that ended at Beltway 8 and Wilson Road. After that, they said the suspect jumped out of the vehicle armed with a rifle and jumped onto the hood of a car.
Then they said an officer fired twice.
"The subject got out of the car, attempted to evade deputies," said "At one point made, it back out onto the feeder road from the complex where the crash happened and jumped on the hood of a vehicle that was stopped in a moving line of traffic."
Although we could see a lot of blood on the scene, the sheriff's office says that the suspect is expected to survive. They said it does not appear that the suspect ever fired a shot.
The sheriff's office also said that considering all of the gunfire during the day, and as busy as the area was, this could have been much, much worse.
The feeder road where the investigation was happening was shut down for hours.
