HOUSTON — A woman shot and killed at a west Houston senior living facility had asked for help because she was afraid of her accused killer, the prosecutor said at the suspect's bond hearing on Monday.
Clifton Allen, 66, is charged with murder in the April 13 shooting death of Carol Webber, 74.
Both were residents at Treemont Senior Living on Westerland Drive just north of Westheimer Road.

Allen and Webber had previously dated and she'd named him the beneficiary in her will and retirement plan and given him power of attorney, according to prosecutor Chris Condon.
He said Webber had been trying to get the legal documents back from Allen and no longer wanted him to be the beneficiary.
She told multiple people that he'd become aggressive with her and told an employee that Allen threatened to kill her and she was scared because he had keys to her apartment, Condon said.
Allen has a long criminal history and was out on parole from Louisiana.
The judge listed several out-of-state "violent felony arrests going back to 1997," including a manslaughter conviction and two other felony convictions.
Prosecutors had asked for no bond but the judge set it at $350,000.
