HOUSTON — A man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and a 17-year-old before turning the gun on himself Thursday night in southeast Houston, according to police.
The Houston Police Department said it happened around 9:30 p.m. on Choate Street, which is in a neighborhood off Allen Genoa Road just south of Highway 225.
Initially, investigators believed the incident was a home invasion. They later learned an argument led to the man fatally shooting his 23-year-old ex and the teen. The woman was pronounced dead in the kitchen at the scene. A family member took the teen, who was the cousin of the woman's current partner, to a fire station where he was then brought to a hospital. He later died.
The 26-year-old shooter was found next to the woman in the kitchen with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. He was taken to an area hospital where police said he later died.
