HOUSTON – Police are searching for three male suspects after a store clerk was shot several times during a robbery outside of a northwest Houston convenience store.
According to the Houston Police Department, an employee at the May Food Store was closing late Sunday when he was approached by three young males. One of the suspects pulled a handgun and opened fire on the clerk wounding him several times.
The store is located in the 8500 block of North Main Street.
The employee retreated into the store and called for medical attention, police said. The suspects ran from the scene but were unable to steal anything from the clerk once he went back into the store.
Police said the employee was transported to a local hospital and remains in surgery. He is expected to survive.
